Meals Information

Pre-Order Meals

We continue to distribute breakfast and lunch to students during Distance Learning. Please pre-order so we can accommodate requests. Pre-ordering allows us to make sure we have enough meals for all kids who come to pick one up.

The pre-order form is available for the next week starting Friday at 4:00 p.m. A reminder to pre-order will be sent to you Sunday at 4:00 p.m.  You can pre-order up until 6:30 a.m. the day of pickup.

You have the option to pick up meals daily, Monday through Friday, or pick up a Weekly Meal Kit once a week (Mondays). Meals are free to all kids ages 1 to 18. Children do not have to be enrolled in Highline Public Schools to participate in the meal program.

Check out the new interactive map that shows our 70 pickup locations.

Grading & Report Cards

Here is information on grading and when to expect report cards for elementary and secondary students. Please contact your student’s teachers for specific questions about learning progress or grading reflected on their report cards coming in late November.

Elementary (PreK-Grade 5)

For elementary students, the first trimester ends November 20. You can expect to receive report cards by November 25. Schools may distribute via email or US mail, depending on family communication needs.

Elementary students will be evaluated on their progress toward mastering priority learning standards. This year, teachers will provide comments and feedback only, rather than a number or rating.

Student report cards will give a brief overview of the learning the class has participated in this fall, followed by specific comments regarding the students' individual progress in learning.

Secondary: Grades 6-12

For secondary students, the first quarter ended November 6. Teachers finalized grades by November 12 for the three classes students were enrolled in so far, with 0.5 credit available for each class.

Schools will review grades, then mail printed report cards. Please allow a few weeks for report card delivery.

This year, secondary students are graded on their mastery of priority standards, with grades of A, B, C or Pass (P). If work was not completed, students will be given No Credit (NC).

Please note that final report card grades assigned by teachers may differ from grades listed under “Grade Book” in ParentVUE. Final report card grades are recorded in ParentVUE under “Course History” (scroll to the end of menu items), then scroll down to “Student Course History,” click the “Detail” button to on, then select 2020, Quarter 1.
