New Start Class of 2020

Congratulations to the New Start High School Class of 2020. Our seniors have worked hard, and they deserve to be celebrated. Although a traditional graduation ceremony is not possible due to the pandemic, we have a creative way to celebrate commencement.

With the current restrictions on in-person activities, children and teens may be spending more time online. Please take this opportunity to talk with your child about staying safe online. Younger children are especially vulnerable to being deceived by people they encounter in multi-player games and other internet gathering places.

Educators have never had to adapt like they have this year, creating new ways to engage students and families. Highline teachers made an overnight transition to a distance learning model, showing our community their best qualities: innovation, perseverance, tenacity, care and commitment.

We have updated our high school grading policy for this semester, based on a new directive from the Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction. This directive applies to all school districts in the state.
